no-paci tess

tess has had a paci since she was about 2 weeks old. it was a permanent fixture when she was breastfeeding due to her reflux, and then she used it for car rides, naps, bedtime, and soothing.

at some point, we stopped using it for soothing. then, we got the dvd player in the minivan, so we weaned her off using it in the car. when she went to daycare, she stopped using it at naptime there, but still uses it at home. and though she doesn't keep it in her mouth, she uses it to get to sleep most of the time. but this week, we've been discussing with her, the idea of sleeping without it.

yesterday, she wanted it for her nap, but she ended up throwing them all out of the crib, and when i got her after her nap, she told me "no paci".

we let her have it last night because she was at lynn's, but this morning, we discussed not having it tonight. then, tonight, she asked for it, and we reminded her she was going to try to sleep without it. she acted like she was going to be upset, but didn't start to cry or anything.

we put her down... and she went to sleep.

now, i don't know if this is going to last all night, but i just wanted to document it in case this is the start of no-paci tess!

Yay! Claire still uses her pack at nap and bedtime. I'm glad to know that it can be an easy transitition!
