the benefits of living in the mountains

yesterday was a pretty good day, though i feel like i'm fighting off some kind of sickness and have felt lethargic for the past little while. i went to work, ate a nice lunch out at quizno's (it was great to get out of the office for a little), and came home. i was planning on continuing my organizing spree, but i was so tired that i ended up just laying on the couch and was almost asleep by the time andrew got home.

we had planned on going out to eat at black cat, but at the last minute changed our minds and went to canyons - it was a good choice because andrew was still able to satiate his tex-mex craving, while i was able to get a healthier fish plate. we really enjoyed the view, as we got to sit outside during the sunset (and appreciate why the place is named "canyons"). we planned to get desserts there, but they didn't have anything that sounded appealing, so we left and headed out in search of dessert.
we stopped at a brazilian place we had never seen before on howard st. and immediately resented having already eaten dinner. the food looked and smelled delicious, but they didn't seem to have anything special in the way of dessert, so we vowed to come back another night and eat until we burst. along with our dessert plans, we also wanted to get "midnight in the garden of good and evil" to finish since we didn't see the end of it when we were on our honeymoon. we stopped by blockbuster and decided to give up on restaurants, and since we had to buy milk and a few other things at the grocery store, just got dessert there. we got back, made some decaf coffee, and enjoyed our desserts and coffee and fell asleep on the couch at the end of the movie. it was a great night.

this morning, i slept through andrew getting up and ready, and i only woke up when he kissed me goodbye for the day. i got up soon after, took a shower, let the dogs out and fed them, and headed off to work. today was much like most days at work, except that i got an awesome fattening barbeque sandwich with slaw and cheese fries. i ate about half the sandwich but definitely finished the fries - mmmmmnacho cheeeeeeeeese. after writing several more pages of content at work, i headed home. i was hoping to want to organize again... but i'm lazy. i think tonight andrew and i will go night climb with my boss, michelle and her husband. i'm excited!
